We passed by the arboretum from the Morris museum - there's a good amount of shade on the paths. The park overall is mostly well maintained -the paved areas are clean though a bit others are overgrown. That said, I enjoyed the overall gardens and sculptures The visitor center with the library is nice to cool off

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum offers far more than a display of floral elegance. Much like Grounds For Sculpture, it features beautiful and dynamic artworks seamlessly blended into the natural surroundings. The grounds offer numerous benches for relaxation, a peaceful brook running through the gardens, and a lake at one end. While the arboretum hosts an art gallery, historic buildings, and various educational programs, the rhododendrons remain a primary highlight; they are truly spectacular when in bloom. With dedicated picnic areas also available, it is a must-visit destination.

We visited Frelinghuysen Arboretum today and had a wonderful experience. The place is full of beautiful greenery, mature trees, and peaceful walking pathsβ€”it feels like a perfect escape from the busy city. One of the highlights was the rock labyrinth, which was unique and calming to walk through. It’s a great spot for a relaxing stroll, spending time with family, or just enjoying nature. Overall, a very refreshing and well-maintained place. Definitely worth visiting if you love greenery and quiet outdoor spaces. 🌿
